Christianity and Judaism may be terribly patriarchal and sexist religions. But they have better roots evidenced by reverence for the Marys, there being more than one, most notably Jesus of Nazareth's mother, Miriam, and wife, Magdalene.

(Wife? He had a wife? Yes, while Christ may have been single, Jesus of Nazareth was a married rabbi, history shows. Look it up). The other Marys are conflated in the Christian Bible, dismissed as "prostitutes" or insignificant generic women in the background.
